This programme gives pupils opportunity to explore and experience Business through a highly participative game where essential interpersonal skills are identified and developed. They will look at the importance of product development, marketing, selling and negotiation. In their teams they will form a small company, design a product, and produce a 3 minute jingle to promote the product. They will also produce a poster advertising their product and finally they will present their product at a dragons den, where they will be questioned on the merits of their work.

The afternoon session is an introduction into financial management and they will carry out a stock market investment simulation. Each team will be allocated £10000.00 per team, they will then be given a stock market brief on 4 companies and they will place all their money on 1, 2, 3, or all 4 companies after everyone has made their choices. Another market update will be issued showing the new share prices for those companies, also included is an update on their next projected sales, again the teams are expected to use all their money and after they have submitted their choices another stock market share price will be issued. This will be continued for 4 market share updates and at the end of the exercise the team with the most money wins, the process is audited to prevent poor accounting.

We will look at the importance of cash flow to small companies and look at annual accounts, bills, money in and money out and the effect of bad debt on good companies.
